Made from aged mahogany with a nice piece cut for the tabli and natural finished gourd from Maharashtra. Features natural material for all fittings and bridges. Unique lattice celluloid trimming combined with traditional mother of pearl, this sitar features the 'necklace' design as originally designed by Rikhi Ram. Spiral main pegs and plain sympathetics....A very nice jawari, more on the closed side with great response to a hard mizrab strike. A nearly flawless finish! Very playable flat fret setting....This sitar has been air shipped (as are all of our instruments) to preserve its quality.  The sitar you see is the exact model in stock, we use natural light photography but due to low light conditions these photos have had moderate light/contrast adjustments and do not do the instrument justice but it will have to do for the moment!  In Stock - last one. This last necklace has a little crazing in the finish (faint cracking) but is lacquer and best left alone. It has a light-medium touch with low action, nice tone and priced to sell!! RA instruments are now not made locally for the most part, this is the last original one we have.
