7 main strings ~ 13 sympathetics ~  Ravi Shankar/kharaj pancham style.

Made from aged mahogany and set up in kharaj pancham style without top tumba as is common throughout India and especially Varanasi. . Single color penwork, all carvings on the tumba and tabli have been done in-house with a half open jawari done and easy action, garlanded rose design on the tabli.  Floral main pegs with hardwood sympathetics with modern style sympathetic grommets. Sounds as good as it looks, this sitar is the top tun ~ mahogany model from Varanasi's best instrument maker. This sitar was personally selected by us in Varanasi, fitted to our specs and air shipped to our shop.
