Hiren Roy Teak Sitar (sold)
from Hiren Roy. Aged teak wood and 8 years old. The
hard work of breaking in the sitar for the tone has
been done and it has also had a recent jawari and
refitting by Barun Roy in Kolkata last year.
Quartersawn wood on the neck, very unique
decorations and penwork not normally found on Hiren
Roy sitars. Also has rare 2 tier carved main pegs. A
very playable sitar with a bright clear and resonant
tone. While we feel the term professional is
overused, this sitar fits the bill. Also it is quite
large with a 14" wide tabli and the largest upper
tumba I've ever seen. Will not fit in the tumba
fiberglass cases and will be shipped seperately. The sitar shown is the
actual instrument in stock! The previous owner
decided to stick with a smaller tun Hiren Roy. Comes with a
hard case (original with the instrument) included in the price. This sitar has been
air shipped (as are all of our instruments)to
preserve its quality.
