A natural fully carved sitar with no plastic/celluloid or penwork, just fully carved wood in mahogany with ebony finished highlights. Features natural material for all fittings. Bridges are made of natural/synthetic combination. Unique carvings, superb finish with a light mottled natural gourd from Maharashtra. Beautiful quatersawn wood neck. Spun wood top tumba with hemraj style decorations and beautiful sanded edge main pegs. About 3/4 open with a medium touch, this particular sitar is very responsive and resonant. We are really impressed with the tone and beauty of Bashir's instruments and this sitar has been air shipped (as are all of our instruments) to preserve its quality.
